Piercing is the process of perforating the body tissues which provides new apertures so that various objects can be placed in them, it can be pierced navels, nose wings, eye brow, tongues etc. Owing to the efforts of some high-end fashion personalities it has positioned itself as a style statement among youngsters. A little care can add more beauty and value to body piercing and will make it more appealing, thus certain safety measures should be taken care of while piercing. Piercing involves a lot of septic issues and one should not act sluggish in matters related to it. Medical point of view:Body Piercing technique is quite simple, if the performer is subject to all the required knowledge and skills. But not even the most experienced piercing professional could ever guarantee any complications during the piercing. Every person has different body structure and unique anatomic peculiarities of blood circulation and thus the piercing professional is not able to judge or forecast the probability of complications in future due to piercing which can result into dangerous bleeding, swelling, post-operational inflammation, allergic reactions ending in breathing interruption, oral cavity infections, toxic shock, sepsis, speech abnormalities and can also be life-threatening sometimes. Body piercing involves many health issues and should not be compromised upon. So a person should take care of necessary precautions before piercing to avoid any complications in future. Points to be kept in mind before body piercing:
For preventing any inflammation constant care should to taken. During at least 2 weeks, twice a day minimum, the wounds with a special liquid disinfectant should be cleaned until they get completely healed. Use only oil-free antiseptic creams. Don't go for sauna, swimming specially in sea water as it slows down the process of healing, solarium at least up to 2 weeks of piercing. If any complications such as redness, pain etc occurs, a dermatologist should be consulted immediately. In such case the doctor can possibly remove the jewel from the pierced area. If there is no inflammation then until the wounds heals completely no adornment should be worn, because it can catch dust, dirt etc which will lead to inflammation. Any other product except the recommended ones should not be used. Some after effects which can possibly be seen after piercing:
In case a person's mind will get changed, not wanting the piercing anymore. Then just wait for the wound to be healed completely and then remove the ring. The piercing will disappear in some days and only a small mark will remain which will disappear with time. Do not try to pull the ring or tamper with it. |
